2C1 Ministries was founded in February 2018 primarily as a step of faith, with a vision to share the hope and comfort of Christ with anyone who needs it, especially those coping with mental illness. After much prayer and consideration, 2C1 founder Dorothy “Mae” Spradley gained the courage necessary to open up about her experiences. Her desire is to express what comforts her as a child of God coping with mental illness.
Diagnosed in 2008 with Bipolar I Disorder, Mae sincerely believes that "God comforts her in all her infirmities that she might be able to comfort others.” Just as it says in 2 Corinthians 1, she continues to pray that the comfort she herself is receiving will overflow into others' hearts and lives. She thanks Jesus for this comfort that overflows to her and the vision that He would continue to use her experiences to bless others. This inspiration fuels the journey and encourages her to remain steadfast under trial.
Sometimes it is hard to see just how God manages to bring us through the highs and lows of life's trails, but Mae is living proof that Christ meets us right where we are.
